The thirst for travel...at home😊

Living in Europe is synonymous with Wanderlust. However, with the restrictions in place in many countries for over a year now, our thirst for travel is growing, our list of countries to visit is getting longer and our time in Europe is decreasing. To keep our wanderlust vision at the forefront, let’s try a different kind of experience, a Staycation!

Create your adventure

There's nothing better than having a family camping trip in the backyard. Not only will you save on the logistics of a camping trip (packing, meal planning, making sure everything fits in the car, etc.), but you'll also be more relaxed when it comes time to set up the tent and therefore more inclined to accept the help of your children and/or life partner. And because this adventure does not require transportation, you will have more time to enjoy the simple camping activities. If the weather allows, you can enjoy some time star gazing and maybe even leave the cover off the mesh part of the tent, so you fall asleep under the stars. To capture your family memories, make sure you take lots of photos! Also do not be afraid to try activities you would not normally do because you’re at home. Play a game of hide and seek in the dark, or a game of 'kick the can' if your children are old enough, read with the headlamp before bed, enjoy special “camping” snack- and most importantly, laugh together, A LOT! The list of activities is endless, just have imagination and be willing to have fun. 😊

Break new ground

Nothing is easier than falling into the routine, even when it comes to exploring our local area. That's why it's important to choose unusual places to visit, unknown forest trails or street to walk on and take time to marvel at the novelty of being in a new place. Often, these gems hide close to our home, however you may have to go a little further, so do not hesitate to make the road trip, explore! For a little more added fun, consider adding a picnic to your local getaway. These adventures will require you to leave the house and spend quality time with your family, in addition will introduce you to a new corner near home.

And then, to make the fun last, develop the many photos taken during your adventures and organize a creative evening, maybe even creating a souvenir album that shares all the stories of you journey. It will be filled with magical moments you can share with the family, the beautiful staycations of spring/summer 2021.
